Chenrezig, also known as Avalokitesvara in Sanskrit, is the Bodhisattva of Compassion and one of the most venerated figures in Buddhism. His name means One Who Looks Upon the World with Compassion, and he is believed to embody the infinite love and mercy of all Buddhas. In Tibetan Buddhism, he is considered the protector of Tibet, and the Dalai Lama is regarded as his earthly manifestation. Chenrezig is often depicted in various forms, the most common being with four arms, symbolizing his unwavering resolve to help all beings. Some depictions show him with a thousand arms and eyes, illustrating his omnipresent awareness of the suffering in the world. His hands typically hold a lotus flower, a mala (prayer beads), and a wish-fulfilling jewel, representing purity, devotion, and enlightenment.

Statues should be preserved in a glass cabinet to protect them from dust and damage.

Use a soft, clean cotton cloth to gently wipe away dust from the statue.

Try not to touch gold statues too much, as the oils from your hands can cause them to tarnish faster.

Steel wool, metal-bristled brushes, or scrubbing pads should never be used on the statue to avoid scratches.
